Here are some frequently asked questions about the NEW digital Tasty Ticket Card powered by Magic Money!
What are Tasty Ticket cards for? Magic Money is the new and improved way to enjoy The Texas Food Truck Showdown! It is a reloadable card system that is used to purchase and redeem Tasty Tickets for 4 oz. servings of the trucks’ Signature Dishes. The Tasty Ticket cards will be accepted at all food trucks from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.; after 4 p.m., the food trucks will serve their full menus and accept cash/credit only.
How do I buy a Tasty Ticket card? The reloadable Tasty Ticket cards will be available for purchase onsite only for a transaction fee of $2 (similar to an ATM fee). There will be Magic Money kiosks available at multiple spots around the grounds where cards can be purchased. Once the card is purchased, you can reload money for free!
How do the cards work? The cards are scanned at the food trucks. In previous years, Tasty Tickets were purchased for $5 each, which got you one serving of a Signature Dish from the truck(s) of your choosing. This year will be exactly the same, but with credits in place of physical tickets. Credits can be added to your card in $5 increments and for each serving you purchase, a credit will be removed from your card.
How do I reload my card or check how many credits I have left? You can reload your card or check your credit balance by either visiting a reload kiosk or downloading the Magic Money app! To use the app, just scan the barcode on your card receipt. The app is the easiest way to keep track of your credits and reload your card.
Can I use my card at the drink booths, merchandise tables or the beer garden? No, the Tasty Ticket cards may only be used as Tasty Tickets to purchase Signature Dish servings. Drink booths, merchandise tables, the beer garden and the Pop Up Market vendors will be accepting cash and credit only.
Will there still be ATMs onsite? Yes! We will have several ATMs you can access.
What if I don’t use all the Tasty Ticket credits I’ve purchased on my card? Tasty Ticket credits are non-refundable and are only valid from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2019.
What happens if I lose my Tasty Ticket Card? Lost cards can be reported to the Lost and Found. The Texas Food Truck Showdown is not responsible for replacing or reimbursing lost or stolen cards.

“What are the 2019 event dates and hours?” The Texas Food Truck Showdown is Saturday, March 16, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
I heard I can only use my ticket during certain hours. What happens if I have unused tickets?” Tasty Tickets become invalid after 4 p.m. and no refunds are issued for unused tickets. Please note that tickets can no longer be purchased after 3 p.m. Click here for more information.
“Will there be enough food?” The food trucks have assured us that they will be prepared for the crowd.
“Is there a map of the 2019 event?” Yes, a map will be available to pick up at the event.
“How do I contact the Showdown?” Please contact the Greater Waco Chamber at 254-757-5600.
“What are allowed and prohibited items?” For a list of allowed and prohibited items, please click here.
“Will there be children activities?” Yes, there is a KidsZone. It will feature a petting zoo, a reptile show, peanut butter and jelly boxed lunch for sale, and more!
“Can I bring my dog?” Yes! Furry friends are welcome. Please keep your pet on a leash and avoid bringing any aggressive animals.
“Where is the Lost & Found?” Please see your map – the Lost & Found tent will be located behind the Chamber Building and in front of Coach’s BBQ. You can also contact the Chamber about your lost items after the event at email@example.com.
“What safety and security will be on site?” Waco PD will be providing all of our security on site that day. There will be plenty of officers on hand to ensure a safe event.
“Will there be medical services?” Emergency medical staff will be available on site. If you need any assistance, go to the medical tent, look for a police officer, or event staff member.
“Are both cash and credit card accepted?” Cash and credit cards will be accepted at the drink booths, merchandise tables, beer garden and at the Pop Up Market. Multiple ATMs will be available on site. Signature Dishes are only available to purchase via Tasty Ticket card – after the competition ends at 4 p.m., food trucks will be accepting cash/credit.
“Does the showdown have the right to refuse admission?” Showdown personnel reserves the right to refuse admission or remove you from the venue without refund in reasonable circumstances – such as the refusal of security checks or if venue staff consider that your behavior may adversely affect other people’s enjoyment of the event.
“Are tickets transferable?” Tickets are not transferable and their resale for profit or commercial gain (except by us or our authorized sub-agents) or use in promotions or packages without the express permission of the Promoter / Organizer is prohibited and may render them void.
“Can I pass out business information or coupons at the event?” Unauthorized/unlicensed vendors are not allowed. No unauthorized solicitation and materials including handbills, flyers, stickers, beach balls, giveaways, samples, etc. This is a benefit offered to our sponsors. Those not following this rule will be asked to leave.
“Do you offer refunds for bad weather?” The Texas Food Truck Showdown does not offer refunds due to poor weather conditions. All sales are final rain or shine.
